Definition of Descriptive Text

·   Descriptive Text is a text describing a particular person, place, or thing

·   Descriptive describes someone or something in detail
Generic Structure 
Descriptive Text consists of:
a)  Identification
     This part introduces the person/things described
b)  Description
     This part gives the details of the person/thing described.     It   may describe    parts,  qualities or characters.
c)  Conclusion (optional)
Significant Features 
Focus on specific participant
Use of attributive and identifying processes
Use of simple present tense

For Example:

  

   My House

My family and I live in a house. It is on Merdeka Street, no.5. ( Identification)

The house is not too big. There are 3 bed rooms, a living room, a dining room, a bath room, and a kitchen. All rooms have beautiful green color, because my mother like green. They  are neat and clean. There is a comfortable small garden in front of my house. There is a long wood chair in my garden. The garden is beautiful, because the plants grow well. ( Description)
